Who Am I

My preference for viewing the world through the lense of a camera was cultivated by my father, Jerry Wayne Boren.  He planted the seed that has grown into my love of photography by means of capturing images of his ordinary everyday world in extraordinary ways.  His photographs revealed not only his passion for his hobby but how he experienced and witnessed the world around him and how he was present with his family, which to this day are emblems of my most cherished childhood memories.

I come from a breed of people who see potential, have visions, are driven by ambition, and aren't afraid to work hard to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

I come from people who taught me how to explore the journey of accomplishment, which entails being and doing to the best of my abilities and when faced with a challenge to persevere, educate myself on how to overcome the challenge, to embrace making mistakes and to seek growth not perfection.

I come from creative spirits and resourceful people that appreciate the simple things in life and revel in the beauty of that simplicity.

I come from people who respect nature and instilled the value of stewardship.

It is from these values, these lessons, these visions that inspire my photography, which come from my heart and into fruition from the hearts of my ancestors.

I strive to carry on my Father's passion and grace of capturing the ordinary everyday world and to have the camera be my guide to expanding my worldviews, to continue seeking growth over perfection, and to document my journey in finding freedom in spectating rather than expecting anything in life.
